The foundation provides financial assistance to Canadian writers who are in financial distress.
Community Foundation of Ottawa is committed to seeding, nurturing, supporting and strengthening the community. Grants are made to not-for-profit organizations in all sectors that are recognized by the Canada Revenue Agency as registered charities.
Through their performing arts program they give funding to help sustain the vibrancy of the professional performing arts. They focus on supporting dynamic leaders who are contributing to positive change, innovative approaches and encouraging dialogue and learning.
The Power of the Arts Forum is co-organized by the Michaëlle Jean Foundation and Carleton University’s Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. It convenes researchers, business leaders, legal experts, policymakers, urban planners, architects, youth, health practitioners, artists, and representatives of other key sectors of Canadian society.
