The Micaela Fitch Room provides much needed space to the arts community in the Arts Court complex. Seminars, meetings, art openings, auditions and presentations are just some of the activities that this space accommodates.

Description

The Micaela Fitch Room is located at Arts Court, 2 Daly Avenue, and is part of the office space of the Ottawa Arts Council.

The room is approximately 16' x 36' (4 m x 9.5 m) and provides a meeting and workshop space, which is available for use by members, not-for-profit groups, government agencies,  and businesses. The room is equipped with a six-piece modular board table which can be easily moved to suit the purpose of the activity taking place. When set up as a board table, it will accommodate 14 to 18 people at the table. While 20 chairs are provided in the room, additional chairs can be provided on request with a week’s notice. A built-in side table provides space for coffee and refreshments.

Rates

Room rental

Hourly rental rates, 3 hours minimum:

  • Members—$12
  • Not-for-profit groups—$15
  • Business, Government and others—$35

Equipment rental rates

Daily rental rates:

  • Data Projector—$35
  • Conference phone—$50 
  • Flip chart and markers—$15
  • Extra chairs (per stack of 10)—$25
  • Extra folding table—$25
     

Services rates

  • Early or late access—$35/hour, one hour minimum
  • Print and post directional signage—$10
  • Clear furniture from the room—$100
  • Clear furniture to the side of the room—$50
     

Cancellation

The Ottawa Arts Council aims to be responsive to the needs of all stakeholders in the operating of this facility. To help us accommodate the many rental requests we have, please ensure two weeks written notice of cancellation. Cancellations of less than two weeks’ notice will be charged 50% of the rental fees. No shows will be charged the full fee.

Bookings

The room is available for use between 9 am-10 pm, seven days a week (statutory holidays excluded). Arrangements can be made for use before 9 am, however, an hourly access fee will apply.

Bookings are made on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Written confirmation of bookings will be required to secure reservations.

Access

Ottawa Arts Council staff are usually available during regular business hours, Monday to Friday,  9 am to 5 pm. For weekends, evenings or times when Ottawa Arts Council staff are not available, the renter can gain access to the space by contacting the front desk staff at Arts Court. At the close of the rental or at times when the space will not be occupied, it is the responsibility of the renter to have the front desk attendant lock and alarm the space. The front desk staff are available from 9 am to 10:30 pm daily.

Room Use

To help reduce our environmental impact, we request that clients refrain from bringing bottled water. We have delicious water available and provide pitchers and glasses for your use. If you are planning on providing catering or having catering provided please discuss this with us in advance. Dishes, glassware, and cutlery are provided with the rental. Please load used items in the dishwasher to clean them in when you are finished.
